What women want: a selection of women's desires on March 8
According to Avito, Russian ladies want to be given cosmetics, perfumes and jewelry on International Women's Day. Flowers, of course, are beautiful, and many even smell pleasant, but practical modern ladies prefer gifts that will stay with them longer than a few days.
16% of respondents are interested in gadgets, and much more than those who will be happy with a gift certificate (31%) or a tour package (23%).
It is curious that Russian men are sensitive to women's desires.

- And 22% of respondents want to give a gift certificate.

- 9% of respondents want to buy dishes for their hostess.
- And 6% of men think that the best gift is a good book.
- The percentage of those who are going to give alcohol instead of books, jewelry and perfumes is low - 4%
- Even fewer who give their woman a ticket or an animal. Only 2% are ready to go for it.
What women get on March 8
The Avito survey revealed the 5 most frequent gifts for International Women's Day:
- Last year, 40% of women received cosmetics and perfumes as a gift.
- 19% of respondents handed jewelry
- 18% became happy owners of gift certificates
- Clothing and shoes went as a gift to 11% of women surveyed.
- 7% updated their home appliances.
Most Russians - namely 83% - were satisfied with the gifts. Most of all, women from 56 years of age and over enjoyed gifts.
The Marketing Guild has slightly different information. According to her, the leader of the list of the most popular gifts on March 8 are flowers. A little less often, women are given candy and chocolate confectionery, and then cosmetics, perfumes or eau de toilette.
Also in the top 10 of what is most often presented on March 8 includes:
- gadgets and accessories for them,
- haberdashery,
- Underwear,
- a walk to the cinema, restaurant or theater,
- gift cards,
- kitchen utensils and small household appliances, such as electric kettles, irons, blenders, etc.
- goods for hobbies and sports activities.
How much are men willing to spend on gifts for women on March 8
- According to Avito, 35% of Russian men have a "gift budget" not too big - from 1,000 to 3,000 rubles.
- 24% of respondents put aside from 3000 to 5000 rubles for holiday purchases.
- 18% of respondents will spend less than 1000 rubles on gifts.
- 11% will buy gifts ranging from 5,000 to 10,000 rubles.
The results of the study by the Marketers Guild almost coincide with the foregoing. The average price of a presentation by March 8 is from 1,500 to 2,000 rubles. But the total spread of spending is very wide - from several hundred rubles to 150 thousand rubles.
What products are increasing demand before March 8
According to Yandex.Market, on the eve of the Spring Festival, men began to sweep potted flowers, sweets, champagne and sparkling wines, as well as gift certificates from the shelves.
Cosmetics (especially gift sets) and perfumes of the mid-price range were also popular - about 3,746 rubles. Demand for electric curlers doubled, and one and a half times - for other hair styling gadgets.
An interesting trend compared to last month was an increase in demand for caviar and machines for removing spools from clothes. And the number of requests for retro consoles and for some reason tandoor has doubled (compared to 2019).
When collecting statistics, Yandex took into account the data of conversions of users to websites of online stores in the period from February 26 to March 3 of this year, and compared them with the number of clicks in the period from January 29 to February 4 of the same year and from February 27 to March 5 last year.
