They worked hard to become who they are, and excelled in the field of power sports.

10. Becca Swanson (44 years old)

She also participated in the competition for the title of the strongest woman in the world since 2002. At the moment, she is the strongest woman on Earth.

9. Mikhail Koklyaev (40 years)

In 2018, the Russian hero was able to move the Volgar floating crane weighing 6500 tons in 2 minutes and drag it 2 meters 22 centimeters. This record was recorded in the presence of a representative of the Russian Book of Records.

Earlier, the successes of Koklyaev were noticed by Arnold Schwarzenegger himself. In 2011, Schwarzenegger expressed admiration for the fact that the Chelyabinsk athlete twice lifted 111 kg during the Arnold Strongman Classic-2011

8. Eddie Hall (30 years)

This British strongman can easily raise an ordinary person above the ground, like a rag doll. He was recognized as the strongest in the world in 2017 and so far is the only person able to lift a weight of 500 kg. The previous record mark was 465 kg and Eddie Hall also set it.

However, due to health problems, Hall expressed his intention to return to the lower weight competition.

7. Yuko Ahola (47 years old)

This Finnish athlete holds the world record in the Hercules hold exercise. During this exercise, the strongman needs to hold two pillars with chains that bend in opposite directions. The winner is the person who can hold the longest posts. Anhola was able to hold pillars weighing 197 kg for 45.7 seconds.

Anhola also set a world record in the Atlas Stones exercise (215 kg). During this competition, a round stone or concrete ball must not only be raised, but also thrown over a rack of a certain height or put on a special cabinet.

Having left a heroic career, Yuko tried his hand at cinema. He has appeared in films such as Invincible, Kingdom of Heaven, Vikings and War of the Dead. He is also one of the organizers and judges of the World’s Strongest Man contest.

6. Magnus Ver Magnusson (55 years old)

The ex-strongman and powerlifter from Iceland four times became the most powerful person in the world.

Magnusson's titles include West Coast Viking, Strongest Man in Northern Europe, Strongest Man in Europe, and World Muscular Champion.

Currently, the athlete has left the world of big sport. He owns the prestigious Giant’s Nest gym in Reykjavik and sets the path for true future powerlifters.

5. идydrunas Savickas (42 years old)

One of the most powerful people on the planet comes from Lithuania. He is considered one of the greatest modern strongmen who has won all major competitions.

Savickas became 14 times “The Strongest Man in Lithuania”, three times “The Strongest Man in Europe” and won the competition “The Strongest Man in the World” 4 times. He also won a silver medal in Japan in the World Power lifting competition, gaining 1020 kg in total - only 2.5 kg less than Brad Gillingham, the gold medalist, even earned the title of one of the most unusual people.

And in the piggy bank of achievements of the Lithuanian athlete, a six-time victory in Arnold Strongman Classic.

4. Mariusz Pudzyanovsky (41 years old)

The pride of Polish sports is known in the country as "Dominator" and "Poojiang". During his career as a strongman, Pudzyanovsky won five titles of the strongest man in the world, more than any other athlete according to the Guinness Book of Records.

And in 2009, Dominator made his debut as a fighter of mixed martial arts.

3. Brian Shaw (36 years old)

In his youth, Shaw was an excellent basketball player (his height is 203 cm) and played for the team of his college, in which he received a diploma in wellness management.

He is a four-time holder of the title "The strongest man in the world." He won the Arnold Classic twice and once the All America Strongman Challenge, which is part of the FitExpo annual California fitness festival.

In 2011, Brian Shaw became the only (at that time) person to ever win two major sporting events - Arnold Classic and “The Strongest Man on the Planet” in the same year.

2. Elbrus Nigmatullin (44 years old)

A multiple holder of the title “The Strongest Man in Russia” has been engaged in powerlifting and armwrestling for many years, and his name has repeatedly appeared on the pages of the Guinness Book of Records.

In 2016, he was able to repeat the old amusement of the heroes - to keep two horses pulling in different directions, weighing 870 kg.

And in 2017, Nigmatullin set a new world record. He was able to budge and stretch a balloon at a distance of 50 meters with a shell volume of 2500 cubic meters and a lift of 350 kg. It took the Russian strongman 2 minutes 35 seconds to complete this task.

The Chelyabinsk strongman and acting career did not pass by. He starred in the television series "Yellow Dragon", playing the master of martial arts.

1. Haftor Bjernsson (29 years old) - the most powerful person in the world

If you watched one of the most popular series in the world, “Game of Thrones,” you probably remembered Sir Grigor's “Mountain” Kligan. It was played by the Icelander Haftor Bjernsson.

This year, Mountain Man took part in the contest “The Strongest Man in the World 2018”, which took place in Rizal Park in Manila (Philippines). He participated in this event annually since 2012, but won the first place for the first time.

Happy Bjernsson posted a photo on social networks on which he stands on the top step of the pedestal.

The athlete and actor, whose weight reaches 200 kg and a height of 206 cm, is the first person to win the title "The Strongest Man on the Planet", the title of the strongest of Europeans and won the Arnold Classic bodybuilders competition in the same calendar year.
